Established in 1992 the Nightforce Scope Company is headquartered I Orofino Idaho. While not exactly on the beaten path you could say that this little town is the perfect place for Nightforce to build and test its rifle scopes. This company builds rifle scopes with the goal of building the finest scopes on the market. Yet if you talk to someone at Nightforce you will learn that there are two guiding principles that go into the construction of every Nightforce Rifle Scope. This optics company wants to build the clearest best resolution scope on the market and they want to build scopes that have absolute mechanical repeatability. While very well know is the professional market, including military and law enforcement, these rifle scopes have become the benchmark for hunters who have long range shooting on their mind. Each and every Nightforce scope goes thru a battery of extensive quality control tests, some 70 in all, tests that might actually destroy lesser quality scopes. When you receive your Nightforce you can rest assured that it is as strong and well made rifle scope as possible by today's manufacturing standards.
The Nightforce NXS scopes have become the benchmark of quality and dependability for Special Forces and law enforcement applications and for good reason. Each Nightforce Rifle Scope is made from a solid bar of 6061 T1 aircraft grade alloy, this is a marked change from most of their competitors who use an extruded or molded tube, and each Nightforce Scopes has body thickness that is two to three times thicker then what you will find on other rifle scopes. These scopes can take the stress and punishment from even the heaviest of recoiling rifles. Even the internal titanium erector spring is built to amazing standards spending two weeks in a polishing tumbler before it's used, this assures that the scope has no microscopic peaks and valleys which might have minute effects on accuracy. Titanium is used because it is the only metal that can be compressed repeatable and held in place indefinitely without fatiguing and thus loosing it scope holding properties.
The clarity of Nightforce Scopes come from the matched index glass that is seated by had in perfect alignment with the other lenses. When you match lens glass precisely it's called optical indexing, but it's necessary if you want the best rifle scope optical performance. These lenses are bedded in special shock absorbing cement that never completely dries. This insulates the scope lenses from the tube and is part of the system that allows Nightforce scopes to withstand the recoil of the world's hardest hitting calibers.
Its not easy or inexpensive to build the worlds most durable rifle scope, but as we mentioned making a cheap scope is not the goal of Nightforce Optics, they only want to build the world best!
