Leupold Tactical Mark 4 Scope Warning

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Leupold and Stevens has sent out an consumer alert warning that some of the Leupold Rifle Scopes finding there way to market are counterfeit. There seems to be an influx of counterfeit rifle scopes making there way into the US from the Peoples Republic of China according to the company. These scopes that look like Leupold Rifle Scopes and who may be outfitted with the trademarks of the company make them very hard to spot in the open market. In particular counterfeited Leupold Mark 4 riflescopes have arrived in the US with increasing frequency and have even been showing up at the company’s Beaver ton Oregon headquarters for service. Of course these products are not manufactured by Leupold and are not covered by the company’s Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee.

Leupold employs serial number to track their rifle scopes during the lifetime of the product so if you suspect that you may have purchased on of the counterfeit Leupold Scopes please call the company so they can run the serial number for your, 1-800-Leupold.

Most of the scopes have been traced back to Hong Kong and have the Leupold Mark 4 Rifle Scope engraved on theĀ  bottom of the adjustment turret. The scopes do not appear to have the Leupold Medallion and according to the company all of their products will have this symbol. The company advises all Leupold riflescope buyers to only buy from authorized Leupold Scope dealers. A listing of those dealers can be found on there home site.
